🚨 Young Kalabo Man Arrested After Attempted Sexual Assault
📍 Kalabo, Western Province, Zambia
A 21-year-old man, identified as Chingi Mukisi of Hill Park Compound, Kalabo, has been arrested following an attempted sexual assault at a residential home in Kashitu Compound.
According to Western Province Police Commanding Officer Rae Hamoonga, the incident occurred in the early hours of March 7, 2026. The suspect reportedly entered the home of a 28-year-old woman and attempted to commit sexual assault while the victim was asleep with her children.
The woman resisted the attack and raised an alarm, attracting nearby family members who intervened and forced the suspect to flee. During the struggle, the victim sustained minor injuries and received a medical report.
In a turn of events, Mukisi returned to the area hours later to retrieve coins allegedly dropped during the attempted attack. He was recognized by family members and immediately reported to police, who arrested him.
The suspect is currently in police custody, and investigations into the case are ongoing. He is expected to appear in court soon.
