3-Year-Old Girl Dies After Alleged Assault by Drunk Uncle in Ndola

A tragic incident in Ndola has claimed the life of a three-year-old girl identified as Janet Mazimba after she was allegedly assaulted by her uncle during a drinking spree.

Police reports indicate that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning and was officially reported around 02:10 hours on April 13, 2026.

The suspect, identified as Alimon Simukonda (38), is alleged to have been heavily intoxicated when he violently slammed the child onto the ground.

The child’s grandmother, who witnessed the shocking incident, reported that the young girl immediately began bleeding severely from the nose and mouth following the assault.

Authorities confirmed that Simukonda has since been arrested and remains in police custody as investigations into the matter continue.

Police have condemned acts of violence against children and urged members of the public to report suspected abuse immediately to law enforcement agencies.
