🚨 Chilenje Serial Women Attacker Dies Following Arrest

A 39-year-old man, identified as Collins Kasiye Soma, has died after being arrested by police in Lusaka's Chilenje Township. The man had been linked to multiple attacks on women and was previously investigated in connection with the 2012 murder of NIPA student, Ruth Mbandu. He had also served a prison term for robbery.
Police reports indicate that on the evening of March 6, 2026, a 20-year-old woman reported an assault near Old State House. Police subsequently apprehended Soma, who allegedly stole a cellphone during the incident.
During the investigation, the suspect reportedly cooperated with police, leading officers to multiple crime scenes and demonstrating how he carried out attacks on seven female victims across Lusaka.
Soma was taken to Sikanze Police Hospital for treatment but was later referred to University Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to Zambia Police Service spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi.
