John General Case Fails To Take Off

By Josphat Hamakala | September 3, 2026

The trial of Miracle Impact Church Overseer Bishop John Nundwe, popularly known as John General, has failed to take off before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court because the court is indisposed.

The matter has since been adjourned to September 9, 2026, for mention and fixing of a trial date.

Mr. Nundwe is facing a charge of allegedly raping a married church member in November 2023, an allegation he denies.

During his defence, Mr. Nundwe told the court that he was once forced to undress at gunpoint while attending to a prayer request at the complainant's house in Lusaka.

The court has also previously heard evidence from ZICTA linking a message reading “bwela tupange” to a mobile number registered in Mr. Nundwe’s name.

However, when asked, he denied sending the message, saying it could have been sent by a church secretary using the phone.
