ECL Appears to Me in a Dream With a Message
ECL Appears to Me in a Dream With a Message
By Peter Sinkamba – Green Party President
It was 03:48 hours last Friday when I had my first dream of Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL) since his passing more than three months ago.
In the dream, the late Sixth President of Zambia asked me to join him in wading through a polluted stream that drained from his residence across the city — much like the streams that cut through Kitwe, crossing residential, commercial, and industrial areas... Read more
The Dream
ECL was dressed in a sky-blue safari suit. Without changing clothes, we entered the knee-high, filthy waters filled with industrial waste, oils, and municipal garbage.
As we walked nearly 10 kilometers, he kept pointing at the dirt clinging to his suit, lamenting that:
“A stream that emanates from the residence of a former president should never be polluted.”
He insisted that such water should be clean and beneficial to the public. At the end of our journey, he turned to me and said:
“As an environmental expert, devise a strategy to clean this stream so that people can benefit from it.”
It was only then that I recalled he had passed away and remains unburied. I awoke, shaken by the encounter... Read more
My Reflection
This was no ordinary dream. It came on the heels of my last real interactions with ECL — a Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders meeting at Crest Lodge in January, and a phone call about three weeks before his death encouraging me to attend another council meeting.
Strikingly, ECL died on June 5th — World Environment Day. The dream’s imagery of pollution, waste, and a call to environmental renewal carries profound symbolism... Read more
Biblical Symbolism
As a Catholic, I prayed over this vision and sought spiritual interpretation.
The Deceased Leader: In biblical terms, his appearance may represent unresolved legacies and a call to confront the past before moving forward.
The Polluted Stream: In scripture, clean water symbolizes life and purity, while pollution represents corruption and decay (Jeremiah 2:13). The stream flowing from a leader’s residence suggests that problems at the top trickle down to affect the whole nation.
The Call to Cleanse: Just as prophets in the Bible were tasked with renewal, the dream’s message to me as an environmentalist is clear — to work towards cleansing not just the environment, but also the political and moral landscape of Zambia... Read more
What It Means for Zambia
This dream is more than personal. It carries a prophetic call for national restoration:
Zambia needs cleansing from corruption, pollution, and moral decay.
Leadership must leave a legacy of purity and integrity, not waste and corruption.
The task ahead for the Tonse Alliance — and for me personally — is not just political victory, but the renewal of the nation’s soul and environment.
I believe this dream was a divine message through ECL, entrusted to me to reflect, strategize, and act.
I will continue to pray, discern, and seek God’s guidance on how to fulfill this mission... Read more
Amen.
