Female Police Officer, Three Others Arrested Over Alleged Assault In Nakonde

Police have arrested a female police officer and three other women following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing the assault of a young woman in Nakonde District.

The Zambia Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a female police officer and three other women in connection with an alleged assault incident in Nakonde District.

The arrests follow the circulation of a video on social media which allegedly shows the four women assaulting a young woman believed to have been employed as a domestic worker.

According to information circulating online, the alleged assault occurred after the police officer reportedly returned home and allegedly found the young woman and her husband in a compromising situation.

The circumstances surrounding those allegations have not been independently verified by police.

Police have confirmed that all four suspects are in custody while investigations into the matter continue.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the suspects or announced any formal charges.

The Zambia Police Service says further information will be provided as investigations progress.
