Police Charge Chester, Felix, IDC and 14 Others With Possession of Offensive Weapons
THREE entertainers, Moses Ng’andwe, popularly known as Chester More Power, Felix Phiri alias Felix Ndangeni Inshila and comedian Winston Ngosa, popularly known as IDC Light Comedy are among 17 people charged with riotous behaviour and possession of offensive weapons in Mongu.
Chester, Felix Ndangeni Inshila, and IDC Light Comedy are currently detained at Mongu Correctional Facility alongside 14 other suspects.
Western Province Police commanding officer Godfrey Mwanza said the 17 suspects have been formally charged with the two offences following their arrest.
Mwanza said a specific court date had not yet been set because the prosecutorial process was still underway.
“The dockets relating to the matter have since been submitted to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) for perusal,” Mwanza said.
He said the 17 suspects would appear before court once all necessary prosecutorial processes had been completed.
Police have not yet provided further details on the circumstances leading to the arrest of the three entertainers and the other suspects or the alleged offensive weapons involved.
