Mundubile, Makebi Zulu and 16 Others Charged With Treason

Former presidential candidate Brian Mundubile, lawyer Makebi Zulu and 16 others have been charged with treason, according to lawyer Milner Katolo, who represents businessman Valden Findlay.

Katolo says the State must clearly demonstrate in court the conduct allegedly constituting treason, given the seriousness of the charge.

The defence says the State will be required to present its evidence in court, where the allegations against the accused persons can be examined through the legal process.

He has also raised concerns over the accused persons’ earlier access to lawyers and family members, alleging that Findlay was previously charged with financing terrorism without his lawyers present.

The defence says it is now ready for the matter to proceed to court, where the State will be required to present its evidence.
