NO POLITICIAN WILL END LOAD SHEDDING — KEN DUMBO WARNS ZAMBIANS

By Staff Reporter | Updated Today

Comedian and social commentator Ken Dumbo has cautioned Zambians not to be deceived by politicians who promise to end the ongoing load shedding crisis during campaigns.

Dumbo said no political figure—whether in government or opposition—has the immediate power or capacity to magically solve Zambia’s electricity shortages, adding that the crisis is rooted in long-term structural problems.

He emphasized that load shedding is not a “campaign issue” but a national challenge requiring consistent investment, upgraded infrastructure, and diversification away from hydropower dependence.

According to Dumbo, politicians who claim they will end load shedding overnight are simply lying to gain votes ahead of the 2026 elections.

He urged citizens to demand honesty instead of political sweet-talk.

“Let them not lie to you when campaigning,” Dumbo said, warning that Zambians must separate reality from political theatre.

His remarks have sparked debate across social media, with some agreeing that load shedding has become a convenient campaign promise recycled every election cycle.
