Musonda said she was meeting Mtonga physically for the first time during the hearing, despite enduring repeated verbal attacks from her since January. She submitted audio recordings to support her claims, stating that the harassment had become unbearable. She further alleged that Mtonga threatened to send “junkies” to kill her, leaving her living in fear.
Musonda narrated an incident where she was forced to leave her home after Mtonga arrived and shouted “hule, hule” — a derogatory insult — outside her residence. She admitted that Mtonga’s husband, Lovemore Chima, had once proposed marriage, claiming he was separated, although she denied ever accepting the proposal.
Mtonga defended her actions, saying Musonda had interfered in her marriage, causing serious problems in her home. Presiding magistrate Lewis Mumba adjourned the matter to November 14, pending the appearance of Chima, whose testimony is expected to provide more clarity.
