Lusaka | 10th November, 2025

MAKEBI Zulu, a renowned lawyer and Patriotic Front (PF) aspiring candidate, took a major step towards realizing his presidential ambitions as he successfully filed his nomination at the party Secretariat today.

The atmosphere was electric at the chilly Secretariat premises as Mr. Zulu's entourage arrived at around 13:30 hours, greeted by a thunderous welcome from multitudes of PF members, including choir singers who danced and sang in jubilation.

Earlier, despite the inclement weather, hundreds of PF members braved the rain, demonstrating their unwavering support for the youthful contender.

By 12:00 hours, the PF Secretariat was teeming with people—a sea of enthusiastic party members and officials had packed the premises, making it difficult to move, as they eagerly awaited his arrival.

As Mr. Zulu’s entourage made its way through the crowd, the air was filled with deafening cheers and chants of “Makebi Nyuuu, Makebi Nyuuu!!” Party members waved fists in support of their beloved candidate.

Mr. Zulu was received by PF acting secretary general Brenda Nyirenda and other senior party officials who warmly welcomed him and his team.

Other prominent senior party officials who showed up to offer support for Mr. Zulu included Prof. Nkandu Luo, Mumbi Phiri, Fridah Sumaili, Sylvia Chalikosa, Jean Kapata, Chilando Chitangala, Richard Musukwa, and Chanda Kabwe, among others.

The lawyer-turned-politician flashed a confident smile as he waved to the crowd, basking in the adoration of his supporters.

“I am humbled by the overwhelming show of love and support from the PF family,” Mr. Zulu said, calling for unity of purpose.

He added, “I'm here to participate not for selfish motives, but to unify the party. We will not forsake the vision of our forefathers. I will continue with the legacy of Michael Chilufya Sata and Edgar Chagwa Lungu, and bring the party together.”

Mr. Zulu further stated that he envisioned equal opportunities for all Zambians — not for one tribe, not for a privileged few, but for every Zambian citizen.

With his nomination papers safely in hand, Mr. Zulu is now poised to take on other contenders in the PF presidential race. His bid is expected to shake up the political landscape, with many predicting a tough fight ahead.

As he left the podium, Mr. Zulu was all smiles, buoyed by the enthusiasm of his supporters.

“The journey has begun. We are bringing something new,” he declared, amidst chants of “Makebi nyuuu, Makebi nyuuu!” from the crowd.

With Mr. Zulu’s nomination, the battle for the PF presidency has officially begun, and Zambia’s political landscape will never be the same again.
