The case involving controversial Pentecostal preacher Senior Prophet John Nundwe, popularly known as John General, has taken a shocking turn in the Lusaka Magistrates Court.
During testimony, Assistant Superintendent Willington Fwalanga, the arresting officer, told the court that his investigations revealed John General was allegedly found naked in the house of a married woman who had gone to him seeking prayers to conceive a child.
According to police, the married woman reported that the clergyman pushed her onto the bed and forcefully had intercourse with her. She said she did not see his private parts directly but felt what she described as the “holy organ” penetrating her... Read more
Evidence Presented in Court
Officer Fwalanga explained that he collected several documents, including a medical report form, which was reviewed before the decision to charge John General was made.
The complainant’s testimony described how she was allegedly pushed and sexually violated.
A medical examination dated November 29, 2023, found no acute genital injuries and described the complainant’s condition as “normal for a sexually active woman.”

The defence argued that this weakened the prosecution’s case, since the doctor who examined the complainant confirmed she could not medically prove penetration due to the woman’s sexual history... Read more
Defence Cross-Examination
Lawyer Yokoniah Daka, representing John General, questioned the quality of evidence gathered.
He argued that important items like the complainant’s clothing were not preserved, with the court learning that she later burnt some of the clothes.
Alleged blood stains on a fleece blanket were never tested forensically.
Digital evidence was also put into question, as retrieved WhatsApp chats showed 11 messages, 10 of which were from the victim, and no phones were sent to the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) for proper forensic analysis.
The defence further highlighted contradictions, including the involvement of another man accused of misleading police about events that took place in the house. This man has since been charged with giving false information to law enforcement... Read more
