South African Police Conduct Postmortem on Former President Edgar Lungu’s Body
South African Police have conducted a postmortem examination on the body of former president Edgar Chagwa Lungu as investigations continue into the possible cause of death.
Makebi Zulu has confirmed that a postmortem examination has been conducted on the body of Zambia’s former president Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
According to the family spokesperson, the South African Police Service took custody of the former president’s remains on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into the possible murder of the former head of state.
Earlier this year, five members of the Lungu family were reportedly questioned by South African authorities as investigations intensified surrounding circumstances leading to the former president’s death.
Zulu confirmed the development through a video circulating on social media platforms, including Sun TV.
Authorities have not yet released the official postmortem results, while further updates are expected as investigations continue.
